The HP Integrity BL860c server blade introduces the latest generation HP Integrity capabilities to the BladeSystem c-Class customer. HP-UX and OpenVMS operating environments, in addition to Integrity Linux and Integrity Windows, are now available in the BladeSystem c-Class. The HP Integrity BL860c server blade is a two socket full-height server blade featuring three models of the latest Intel® Itanium® 9100 series 2 core processors supported by up to 48GB memory (12 DIMM slots). The BL860c features four Gigabit Ethernet ports standard, support for three standard c-Class I/O mezzanine cards and up to two internal SFF SAS hot plug disk drives. The HP Integrity BL860c server blade coexists with ProLiant server blades and StorageWorks storage blades within the c-Class enclosure.

Features
Brings unparalleled reliability and availability
The HP Integrity BL860c server blade features the Intel Itanium® processors. These innovative processors incorporate advanced implementations of parallelism to address high-end application and demanding technical workloads
The Integrity processors feature Cache Safe Technology that delivers mainframe class availability via virtually eliminating cache errors
Dynamic Processor Resiliency, only available on HP Integrity servers, will de-allocate CPUs, online, any processor that exhibits an unacceptable level of correctable errors
Double chip spare represents a 3x improvement in isolating memory errors over chip kill implementations
The BL860c supports the innovative HP zx2 chip set bringing exceptional level of high availability to the CPU subsystem, memory subsystem, and I/O subsystem
Brings HP Integrity Virtual Server Environment to c-Class
HP Integrity Virtual Machines is a soft partitioning and virtualization technology that provides operating systems isolation, shared CPU (with sub-CPU granularity), shared I/O, and automatic, dynamic resource allocation
A single HP Integrity server running HP Integrity Virtual Machines can create multiple virtual servers or machines, each with its own "guest" operating system instance with different operating system versions, applications and users
Each virtual machine hosts its own applications in a fully isolated environment. The physical resources of the HP Integrity server are shared among the virtual machines it hosts, based on demand and entitlement
Compliments BladeSystem c-Class
Multi-tier applications are enhanced with the addition of Integrity servers to c-Class. As an example, an application's database tier may be more appropriate on a HP-UX Integrity sever with application tiers running on x86 BladeSystem servers
c-Class infrastructure components are supported by the BL860c
I/O mezzanine cards as well as hard drives are interchangeable across both Integrity and x86 BladeSystem servers
Integrity and ProLiant servers can share the interconnect modules in the c-Class enclosures
