Overview

The HP BladeSystem continues to expand its portfolio of products specifically designed for high performance and scale-out datacenters with the addition of the BL280c G6 server blade. With outstanding dual-processor performance and price per watt, the BL280c helps reduce overall datacenter power consumption while maintaining high performance.

The new Intel® Xeon® 5500 series processors provide significant performance improvements and faster I/O throughput. Also, the new DDR3 memory technology is more energy efficient and has better cooling than existing memory options. Overall, the BL280c offers customers the latest technology for improved power efficiency and performance optimization.


What's new

The HP ProLiant BL280c G6 server blade now supports a higher frequency low voltage processor, the Intel® Xeon® L5530.

Performance
Up to two (2) Intel® Xeon® 4 Core 5500 sequence processors that provide the newest and best performing Intel processors
Up to 96GB of ECC 1333MHz DDR3 Registered DIMMs resulting in greater performance per watt
Two (2) PCI-express mezzanine expansion slots - X8, Type I and II
Supports both SAS and SATA HDD drives

Management
HP ProLiant Onboard Administrator for high-speed management which includes virtual KVM and graphical remote console at no additional cost
HP Power Regulator provides an innovative operating system-independent power management feature for server power consumption and system performance to meet critical business needs
Insight Control suite provides comprehensive system health, remote control, Operating System deployment, power management, vulnerability scanning and patch management in an easy to install software suite

Options
New DDR3 memory provides lower wattage and better cooling for excellent energy efficiency
HP Small Form Factor Solid State Drives provide reliable internal storage options
Direct-attach blades available for additional local storage, data protection, or PCI card expansion
I/O expansion with optional Fibre Channel, Ethernet, and InfiniBand mezzanine cards
