HP Application Recovery Manager Software (AppRM) is a solution for backup and recovery of business application data designed to improve the time to recovery from an outage. Application Recovery Manager automates restoration of application databases such as Exchange and Microsoft SQL in the event of failure or corruption and provides the ability to restore data to the moment before an outage. Application Recovery Manager, Powered by Data Protector Software technology, delivers a stand alone solution to augment your existing backup software strategy. Application Recovery Manager provides an integrated data recovery solution for Windows applications attached to HP storage arrays. In Windows 2003 environments, Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) provides the basis to create online point-in-time copies of open files from a file server, backup application or from within Exchange or Microsoft SQL application environments.
