The BL280c G6 QuickSpecs include descriptions of all models of the ProLiant BL280c G6 and an extensive list of supported options from HP.

Q2. What is the difference between the HP ProLiant BL280c G6 Blade Server and the HP ProLiant BL460c G6?
A2.

The primary differences between the ProLiant BL460c G6 and the new BL280c G6 are the feature set and price point. The BL280c G6 offers a basic feature set that meets the requirements of scale-out customers focused on power savings. The BL280c is also less expensive than the BL460c G6. The BL460c offers a richer feature set for Enterprise customers. Please reference the Model Comparison Chart for detailed feature set differences.

A1. The ProLiant Onboard Administrator powered by iLO 2 ships standard with every c-Class server blade. It is an enhanced, essential remote management software for the next generation ProLiant BL servers
Q2. What functionality is included in the HP ProLiant Onboard Administrator?
A2. HP ProLiant Onboard Administrator includes HP Virtual KVM, Integrated Remote Console, Terminal Services Pass-through, Virtual Media (browser single server), Blade specific features - setup wizard, rack view, enclosure alerting, static IP bay configuration, Embedded System Health, Remote Serial Console, Virtual Power Button, Unit ID, Event logs, and SIM integration. Q3. Is there additional blade-specific management software?
A3. Yes, there is additional blade specific management software is available. The optional iLO 2 Advanced Pack offers Lights-Out upgrades for ProLiant server blades including security, new power management, scripted virtual media and more in the future. All with flexible licensing, including site licenses and an eight blade kit. The iLO 2 Advanced Pack includes:
  • Power Capping to enforce control of blade power consumption
  • Power Regulator Reporting
  • Enterprise security including directory services and two-factor authentication

Q1. What is the warranty on this product?
A1. The BL280c G6 offers a World-wide limited warranty that includes 3 year parts. A variety of upgrades are available through HP Care Packs. In addition processors, memory, and hard drives are covered by an HP prefailure warranty. Click for a complete description of the warranty.

A2. HP recommends customers purchase for deployment, HP Bladesystem Infrastructure Installation and Start Up and same day 24x7 hardware support combined with software technical support for opertaing system and management software.
