Q2. What is the difference between the HP ProLiant BL260c G5 Blade Server and the HP ProLiant BL460c G1?
A2.

The differences between the ProLiant BL460c G1 and the new BL260c G5 are its feature sets and it's entry level price point in the market. The BL260c G5 offers a basic set of features designed for the Small to Mid-Market Customer. The BL460c offers a richer feature set for the Enterprise Market Customer. Please reference the Model Comparison Chart for detailed feature set differences.

The BL260c includes optional support for:

  • Additional memory
  • Quad or Dual-Core Processors
  • Small Form Factor (SFF) SATA Hard Disk Drives

A1. iLO 2 Standard Blade Edition ships standard with every c-Class server blade . It is an enhanced, essential remote management software for the next generation ProLiant BL servers.
Q2. What functionality is included in iLO 2 Standard Blade Edition?
A2. iLO 2 Standard Blade Edition includes HP Virtual KVM, Integrated Remote Console, Terminal Services Pass-through, Virtual Media (browser single server), Blade specific features - setup wizard, rack view, enclosure alerting, static IP bay configuration, Embedded System Health, Remote Serial Console, Virtual Power Button, Unit ID, Event logs, and SIM integration. A3. Yes, additional blade specific management software is available. Two of the most popular offerings are iLO 2 Select Pack and HP Insight Control Environment for BladeSystem. iLO2 select pack includes power regulator reporting, virtual media (scripted multi-server), enterprise security directory service and two-Factor Authentication. Insight Control Environment for BladeSystem is an integrated suite of software that simplifies the provisioning and management of HP BladeSystem infrastructures.
